Our Story
From Lucknow to Hannover
My name is HARSHITA, and I am the heart behind SWAAD.
I come from Lucknow, a city officially designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. A place where every street carries its own aroma, and every recipe tells a story passed down through generations. There, food is not simply cooked — it is felt.
My greatest inspiration was my grandmother. There was something truly magical in her hands. She never tasted her food while cooking — she simply knew when it was perfect. Guided by the fragrance of spices and the rhythm of her heart, she taught me something invaluable:
Cooking is not just about ingredients. It is a language of love, memory, and connection.
Life later led me down a different path. I stepped into the fast-paced professional world and built a successful career. Yet no matter how fulfilled I appeared, something was always missing deep within me. There was a quiet, constant voice drawing me back to the warmth of my grandmother’s kitchen and to the joy of serving others with love.
From that longing, SWAAD was born.
SWAAD is not just a restaurant. It is my journey back to my roots. Here, I do not simply serve food — I serve stories, memories, and traditions passed down through generations.
Every dish at Swaad carries a piece of this heritage — the same care, the same aromas, and the same heart that once filled my grandmother’s home.
Welcome to SWAAD – The Taste of India.
Where every bite tells a story, and every flavor is made with love.
